Louisiana Economist Projects 75,000 Increase in State Payrolls

Economist Dr. Loren Scott, former chair of the LSU economics department, is forecasting a 75,000 increase in employment in Louisiana over the next two years. His forecast is principally based on an expected increase in industrial construction associated with the development of data centers in the state, such as the already-announced Richland Parish Data Center project Meta is developing in Monroe.
